The James Irvine Foundation awarded a $500,000 grant to the Kern Community Foundation to increase its philanthropic and leadership capacity. The grant awarded was among the 24 grants given by the foundation totalling $8.8 million.
The grant will support the Kern Community Foundation’s efforts to grow philanthropy in the community and improve the effectiveness of local nonprofits in the area.
